Last Saturday saw the Maltese community in Hamilton get together at the Marquis Gardens Banquet Center for the second annual Malta Day Dinner/Dance. It was a smashing success. My entire family was there and I brought along my good buddy Paulo and my favorite Jewish princesses-Michelle & Kayleen. Dinner was excellent; there was even rabbit on the menu. Yum Yum! I had way too much scotch to drink but thank goodness Michelle was there to take care of me. Managed to lose the strap I use to eat/write/brush my teeth with and thought it was lost forever. Lo and behold, two days later a woman who was at a dinner and happens to work in the building I live in arrived at my door, strap in hand. Miracles never cease!

Caught an excellent Led Zeppelin cover band at Hamilton Place last Wednesday. Excellent show! Sounded & looked just like the real boys.

Well, decision day. I waited with eager anticipation until the 2 Ontario March of Dimes’ people showed up. To make a long story short, the thief is not getting fired! Can you believe it? The Ontario March of Dimes feels that there isn’t enough "strong evidence" to support termination. As a matter of fact, one of the March of Dimes people told me he used to be a police officer. As a cop he feels he has a sense for when someone is telling the truth. Get this, she believes the thief is telling the truth! No wonder this guy isn’t a cop anymore! Anyway, it’s time to move on to Plan B. Also, I haven’t given up hope on our court system. Maybe October 6th will be more beneficial.

I was bored today so I figured, what the heck, let’s try and scoop some more tickets to Montréal Canadiens versus Toronto Maple Leafs. Low and behold, two more tickets sold! Going again on April 7th, same section and seats as my January spell 27th appearance. Again, Go Habs Go!

Success! I was able to snag 4 tickets to the January 27th hockey game between Toronto Maple Leafs and the Montréal Canadiens. The seats are pretty good; section 105-the row 18. That’s in the corner by the visitor’s net, about 18 rows up. Not bad at all and they only cost about $90 each. Go Habs Go!

Finally, a victory! The game was actually exciting and the weather wasn’t too bad. The most excitement however, came during the 50/50 draw. The pot: $6,000. Winning number: 001714063. My ticket number: 001714067. Ah, that would have been nice.

Tomorrow, September 16th, is the day tickets go on sale for NHL hockey games. I’ll be on the phone bright and early to try and snag some tickets to Toronto Maple Leafs/Montréal Canadiens games in Toronto. Anyone interested in attending, let me know!

Was at the courthouse this morning to see what would happen when the thief went before the judge (this is at least her fourth appearance). You guessed it, another remand! This one is to October 6th were hopefully a date will be set. We’ll see!
The Ontario March of Dimes appears to be ready to announce their decision on this matter. I have a meeting on September 18th with the thief’s boss & a head office representative from human resources. This could be it. I wonder what I’ll hear.

Well, January 29th. Remember that date. That was the day a March of Dimes staff person stole from me. I reported the incident the very next day. Everyone knows who the thief is; she was the only person in my apartment when the theft occurred. Yet, the March of Dimes has still not made a decision on this one! That represents almost 8 months of indecision and ineptitude. What can I say? Not that the court system is moving much faster. I laid a charge against the thief in early February and we haven’t been able to get past the remand stage. Next court appearance is September 15th at 9 a.m. at the Hamilton Courthouse (room 100) on 55 King St E.. Why don’t you join me there to witness the show?
