Penguins, Pot & Other Stuff

Dear mother is doing pretty well.  Still recognizes everyone although her ability to communicate goes a little downhill each time.  Loves her walks; whenever I’m up there we walk around the building for at least 45 minutes.  She turned 78 this year but manages to keep mobile.  Had a good Mother’s Day with her, Brother Joseph & I actually got her to laugh while we were dancing.

the couple of weeks ago the boys were over for one of our usual card games.  Normally we have seven and that’s what the number was supposed to be this time.  Unfortunately, 2 of our players had things come up at the last moment so the table was a little short.  Yes, Charles was there!

 

There was a bit of a treat for the boys this time.  After winning a bet with my friend Vicky, she agreed to come over and help serve the boys.  Take their coats, light their cigarettes, refresh their drinks and other general things like that.  The catch: she was wearing a skimpy French maid outfit while doing this.  The boys were so distracted I actually won some money this time!  Thank you Vicky, couldn’t have done it without you!

We had Herb (I believe April 7), yours truly-April 25 and even though he is not a family member, Charles on April 27.  Oh yes, we played poker on Charles’ birthday.  That’s another story altogether!

Well, Ottawa has just eliminated Buffalo from competition.  Now we are waiting for the winner of the Detroit/Anaheim series.  Ottawa versus Detroit would be nice!  And, extremely beneficial for me in my hockey pool.
