Eric Pops in For a Visit
An old friend, good old Eric, popped in with another friend Lorne for a visit. You all remember Lorne from one of my earlier posts. Well, I’ve known Eric even longer than Lorne-we go back to the age of 6 and our Blessed Sacrament gradeschool days. Eric is another one of my camping buddies and a lot of our recent get-together was remembering some of our favorite camping stories.
Eric is still a very interesting person. Great storyteller and very familiar with old Norse writings. As a matter of fact, he was the one who introduced me to The Lord of the Rings! Lives in Toronto now and is a self-taught computer Man for the school board there.
Nice to see you again Eric! I’ve put a picture up from our little bull session. Sitting between Eric & Lorne made me wonder if I would feel the same sitting between Yul Brenner & Telle Savalas. All I know is that if Eric & Lorne ever put their heads together, they would make a perfect ass of themselves!

yeah sure, that makes me left buttock to Lorne’s right and ol’ Tony as the ‘Master Sphincter’ in between. This is of course a completely apt analogy. If we ever had a suitably innocent, naive, unitiated new acquaintance whose sense of humour (ribbing) we wanted put to the test; Tony was the best at ’squeezing out’ the maximum value from a story that was, how else to say it, complete crap. Our job was to try and keep a straight face (matching Tony’s sober delivery) while he would lay it on with a trowel. That’s Tony’s ‘kavorka’ for you, the silver tongue that delivers the gilded dung. I’d warn the ladies but I can see from the pictures that they enjoy it too much.

oh … and thanks for saying such nice things about me. You’re a swell guy Tony.
(???…hmmmm, do you think he’s doing it again?)

Once again Eric, the memories come flooding back. Nothing like pulling the wool over you know what. ‘’The silver tongue that delivers the gilded dung'’-I like that.
By the way, the ladies do enjoy that silver tongue and no, I wasn’t doing it again.

WOW! Eric hasn’t changed a bit - Still just as handsome as ever, and a poet too!
Glad you told us that was Lorne - I wouldn’t have recognized him at all!
Great Pic, Tony - definitely one to keep!
