Check Out This Illusion

Just saw this one http://www.up.ac.za/organizations/movup/images/minefun/illusion7.png

Follow the instructions-pretty simple (even Dickhead should be able to follow them).  When you complete the instructions, does what you see remind you of anything?  Those who have seen the Charles Manson picture on my fridge will understand!

Viva Malta!

Everyone knows that it’s a battle between Canada & Malta for being rated the #1 country in the world.  We all know about Canada.  Found this web site which is full of information about Malta: http://www.malta.com/

Check it out.  If you haven’t been to Malta (like me-the only one in my family!)  this will make you want to go.  Sooner or later, it will be my turn!

Looking for Home Remedies

Things continue to improve for yours truly regarding my overall health since returning from hospital.  The little area on my tailbone is healing nicely and my bladder is behaving itself.  There is one thing however which continues to be a bit of a nuisance.  I’ll use the word-diarrhea.  Just won’t go away.  It’s been over three weeks now that I’ve been dealing with this issue.  Lots of immodium and following the brat diet-bananas, rice, apple juice & toast.  Very boring!

I’ll go a couple of days with no problems and then- boom!  Just sent some samples off to be tested but that takes a while.  Does anyone out there have any home remedies for my situation?  I’m getting tired of having to spend so much time in bed because of my situation.  Looking forward to your suggestions!

Finally, Christmas Pictures!

Yes, it was a long wait but finally some pictures from Christmas Eve at Dianne’s.  They would have been up here sooner but Cousin Jan needed a nudge and my dealings with, how do I say this, intestinal dilemmas delayed things somewhat.  Regardless, take a look-some nice shots!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Forgot to mention what went on over the holidays.  Even with my delicate derrière I was able to enjoy time with the family.  Christmas Eve saw me go to Sister Dianne’s for the traditional family get-together & gift exchange.  Amazingly enough the lovely Trish agreed to come along.  She showed, she’s considered part of the family!  Delicious finger food, all the family (except for Nephew Andrew who was home sick with the flu) and of course-that holiday feeling.

One of the gifts I gave my brothers & sisters was a DVD of all the family movies my father took.  I inherited the old 8mm & super8mm films when he passed away.  Over 35 of them!  We played one and it brought back so many memories.  All the way back to 1960 up to about early 1972.  Relatives in Malta, June & I when we were not even 10 years old.  The rest of the brothers and sisters from their infancy to early years.  So nice to see!  Thanks Dianne for hosting a great get-together.  Even Cousin Jan was there with his family.  He took some great pictures he promised to send me so I could put them up on the blog.  Cousin Jan-consider this a nudge!

Christmas Day saw me at Brother Mike’s for Christmas dinner.  His family was there along with Cindy’s mother and father.  They brought a longtime neighbor Ruth with them.  Ruth was a nurse for many years starting in the early 50s.  The stories she had to tell!  Dinner was delicious-turkey with all the fixings.  Even enough leftovers for me to bring home!

All in all, Christmas this year turned out very nice.  For a while, while I was lying in my hospital bed, I thought it was going to be an institutional Christmas for me.  Even the doctors were saying at the start of the week that I might not be getting out in time.  But the old Quacker showed them what he was made of!  Thank goodness, I didn’t want to miss a thing!

Health Update

Well, things continue to get better.  Was feeling really good up to Monday of this week.  Was going to get up in the wheelchair for a while and then it hit-the flu!  Let’s just say I wasn’t a very pretty sight for a couple of days.  Mother Nature was "cleaning me out"!  Today is Friday and I’m finally feeling much better.  Actually able to eat things other than toast/yogurt/bananas/rice.  Sister June dropped in for a visit yesterday and left me some homemade chicken pot pie.  Simply delicious!

All I have to worry about now are a couple of small skin breakdowns on my tailbone.  They are getting better but right now my wheelchair time is somewhat limited.  Maybe another week or 10 days and I’ll be back to normal.  I hope so, there’s absolutely very little to do lying in bed all day.  Daytime television sucks.  Thank goodness for Paulo & Kaleb-constant sources of entertainment.  Oh well, the light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger & brighter!
